Becoming Rosie

Mask of What
As a young artist growing up in Houston, it is a dream come true for Lela “Rosie” Burruto to now be in the Visual Art Department at Kinder HSPVA. Drawing, their favorite form of self-expression, gives them great peace when things get chaotic and offers a way to escape from the harsh realities of the world. While drawing with pencil is still their favorite form of self-expression, Rosie is relishing learning how to work with all mediums and is inspired by each of their amazing art teachers. Rosie recently won a Silver Key in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for the color pencil drawing “Becoming Rosie.”
